Grit standards: FEPA, ANSI and what your list means
Grading systems are not interchangeable — name the standard in every enquiry.
Start with the requirement
FEPA (ISO 848) and the older ANSI scale number similar sizes differently; a P120 and a 120-grit are not always the same. Name the standard you buy to.
Confirm compatibility
Confirm grading standard, abrasive type and availability per grade in the quotation. Do not mix grading systems in one grit list.
Prepare your enquiry
State the standard (e.g. FEPA P60–P800), quantity per grade and destination. Confirm the final grade list with the quotation before ordering.
